Synopsis
Demon Lord of Karanda finds Garion's company arriving in the eastern continent of Mallorea, where they form an uneasy alliance with the Mallorean emperor Zakath as their search for Zandramas continues. The travelers discover that the region is beset by demons, a horror linked to a figure known as the Demon Lord Nahaz, who has corrupted the once-powerful sorcerer Urvon to his own ends. As the party moves deeper into Karandese territory, they witness the destructive consequences of demonic influence on the local population and are drawn into direct conflict with these forces. The volume follows the group as they contend with both the immediate danger of demonic incursions and the wider political tensions of an empire unfamiliar to them, while continuing their pursuit of Zandramas and the missing Geran further east.
