Synopsis
The penultimate volume of The Wars of Light and Shadow follows several interlocking storylines as Athera's long war approaches its final phase. Lysaer faces a crisis of conscience, while his young protector Daliana confronts the most frightening decision of her life. Arithon, the Master of Shadow, remains a hunted man even as he pursues a dangerous personal quest to uncover the truth of his own past, a search that draws him into a web of intrigue and ancient perils. Elsewhere, Elaira's investigation into the secrets of the Biedar tribes places her under a new directive from the Fellowship of Seven sorcerers, the Mad Prophet Dakar must reckon with the consequences of his past mistakes, and Tarens, a young man of humble crofter origins, finds himself steered toward an unexpected and larger destiny as the series' many threads draw toward their climax.
