Synopsis
The second volume of Tobias O. Meißner's Die Dämonen trilogy continues the story of the realm of Orison. Two demons were enough to set a continent ablaze, and a hundred could destroy an entire world, but now a hundred thousand are coming. The deadly creatures pour into the human realm and leave devastation in their wake. Humanity raises armies and forges alliances, but the enemy's numbers are overwhelming. The struggle is no longer about property, land or even personal survival, since only the fate of humankind is still at stake. The novel was published by Piper in 2010. The first volume showed how two demons escaped their prison and set the barons of Orison against one another, and this second volume widens that conflict from a struggle between rulers to a war for the survival of the whole land.
