Synopsis
The fragile peace won by the liberation at the end of Die Trolle is under threat. The Wlachak leader sends Vicinia to negotiate a lasting peace with the Masride ruler, but the talks do not go as planned, and in the mountains a deeper danger is gathering: most of the trolls have sworn allegiance to dark magical powers and rallied around a sinister troll warrior whose only aim is the annihilation of all peoples, her own included. Sten sets out with the last of the trolls who are not in thrall to her, among them the powerful and unpredictable Pard, to prevent the coming disaster, in a second volume in which the trolls take a larger part.
