Synopsis
Jonathan Jabbok is thirteen, paralyzed since an illness at the age of eight, and lives at a boys' boarding school in a wheelchair. Every night his dreams continue like a serial story, and in them he is Yonathan, a boy washed up on the shore of the world Neschan. Yonathan finds the staff Haschevet, which turns anyone else who touches it to ash. He must carry it to the Garden of Wisdom so that the seventh judge can take office and save Neschan from the tyrant Bar-Hazzat, whose agents hunt him. As the dream deepens, Jonathan begins to doubt which of the two worlds is real.
