Synopsis
The dragon keepers continue their arduous expedition upriver toward the lost city of Kelsingra, facing increasingly treacherous terrain, dwindling supplies, and worsening conditions as the journey drags on far longer than anyone anticipated at the outset. As the immature dragons begin to change and slowly develop toward something closer to their ancestors' true forms, the group must also contend with mounting internal conflicts among its very different, often reluctant members, whose personal histories, rivalries, and private secrets threaten to fracture the expedition from within just as external dangers close in around them on the river and the surrounding, largely unmapped wilderness.
