Synopsis
The survivors of the earlier conflict have built a new dragon community on the island chain of Haven, but its unity is tested by a renegade dragon who sows division. Fortune and his friends also try to free dragons left frozen in time at Aether's Cross after the great battle with the Charmed. Meanwhile the surviving basilisks, known as the Deathless, follow a final magical scheme of their own, and a vast river of magic in the sky brings storms that reshape the land. The story also introduces Archan, a blind dragon who rules a mysterious citadel that drifts through time and has ambitions of her own.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
