Synopsis
Dust of Dreams is the ninth volume of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, returning to the continent of Lether in the aftermath of the events of Reaper's Gale. Adjunct Tavore leads the battered Malazan army into the barren Letherii Wastelands to confront an unknown and unsettling new threat, while, in a separate and initially unconnected storyline, a young boy named Rutt leads a ragged column of orphaned refugee children on a desperate trek across the vast and dangerous Elan Plain, their fate slowly drawing the attention of forces far beyond their understanding as the wider war's endgame begins to take shape.
