Synopsis

Echoes of Betrayal continues the Paladin's Legacy series across the Eight Kingdoms. In Lyonya, King Kieri prepares for his wedding to the half-elf Arian even as ancestral spirits warn him of a coming betrayal he cannot yet identify. In Tsaia, King Mikeli's controversial decision to grant lands to a Verrakaien woman with forbidden magical gifts has stirred unrest among his nobles, threatening the legitimacy of his young reign. Complicating matters further, the offspring of dragons begin causing destruction that further destabilizes the region's fragile balance of power. As personal and political threats multiply on multiple fronts, the two kingdoms' fates edge toward a collision that neither ruler is fully prepared for.

Notes

  • From the series record (Paladin's Legacy): 5-novel direct-sequel sequence (2010-2014), continuing immediately after The Deed of Paksenarrion. Not to be confused with The Legacy of Gird, a differently-named earlier prequel duology.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
