Synopsis
Emperor of Ruin concludes the trilogy that began with Ashes of the Sun, bringing the story of siblings Gyre and Maya to its final confrontation. Ashok, the last surviving member of the Order's original Chosen, has seized control of the Twilight Order and presents himself as a reformer promising equality and prosperity to a land long divided by magic and class. Gyre and Maya, who have spent the earlier books on opposite sides of that divide, recognize that Ashok's promises mask a far more destructive agenda for the kingdoms. With the fate of the region at stake, the siblings must set aside the mistrust built up over the trilogy and work to unite allies scattered across the fractured lands, seeking a legendary weapon that might be powerful enough to stand against Ashok's new order.
