Synopsis
Picking up after the events of Ashes of the Sun, this second volume follows the siblings Gyre and Maya as their opposing loyalties harden into open conflict. Gyre, having survived his first confrontation with his sister, now works to unite scattered human rebels and the ghoul-kin of the southern wastes into a single force capable of challenging the Twilight Order's grip on magic and power. Maya, still serving the Order as one of its trained soldiers, is shaken by that encounter with her brother and begins to question the loyalty she has always given without hesitation. Her doubts lead her to investigate a mysterious artifact tied to a lost library, a pursuit that draws her deeper into secrets the Order would rather keep buried, even as Gyre's rebellion gathers momentum across the kingdoms.
