Overview
Burningblade & Silvereye is a completed post-apocalyptic epic-fantasy trilogy by Django Wexler, set generations after a war between magic-wielding humans and their god-engineered creations destroyed the old world. Ashes of the Sun (2020) introduces Gyre and Maya, a brother and sister raised on opposite sides of that divide after being separated as children, drawn back together as old conflicts resurface across a landscape littered with the ruins of a fallen civilization and the strange technology it left behind. Blood of the Chosen (2021) and Emperor of Ruin (2023) carry their story to its conclusion, following the pair as their loyalties and the true nature of the ancient war are tested. Wexler, also known for The Shadow Campaigns and The Wells of Sorcery, built the trilogy around a scavenged, half-magical, half-mechanical setting distinct from his other series, blending epic fantasy with elements of science fiction.
