Synopsis
Arslan travels to the port city of Gilan, on the Parsian coast, where he deals with the pirates who prey on its trade and wins the support of the wealthy merchants who control it. With their money and ships behind him, he returns to the main war. His companions work to bring scattered friends and allies back to his side, while the Parsian and Lusitanian armies move toward a clash east of the capital. Arslan is young, and both his own camp and his rivals test whether he can govern as well as fight.
