Synopsis
The struggle for the sacred sword Luknabad draws the rival forces of Pars and Lusitania into new conflict. At the same time the cavalry of Turan, a neighbouring people, invades the weakened kingdom, and Arslan must beat them back. When King Andragoras III returns to the fighting, the king and his son differ sharply on how the war should be run and who should lead it. Arslan finds himself pushed out of command of the army he has built. Lonely and uncertain, he must decide whether to keep going alone, while his companions struggle to find where he has gone.
