Synopsis
Falcon is now thirteen and finds that her magic only gets in the way of being popular and having crushes. After a humiliating incident at the swimming pool, she goes to see her mentor, Aunt Emily, who is well over a hundred years old and seems to be dying. A new friend of Falcon's, who can also see dragons, joins her, and together they spin Aunt Emily back a century to New York City in 1903. The trip takes the three through a city very different from the present one, while Falcon, in the company of a woman near the end of a long life, begins to think about her own.
