Synopsis
Fatal Revenant continues directly from The Runes of the Earth as Linden Avery, having recovered Jeremiah and encountered a version of Thomas Covenant restored to the Land, searches for a way to free her son from the psychic trap that has left him withdrawn since childhood. Her efforts instead fling her, along with allies drawn from the Land's present, thousands of years into its past, long before the calamities that shaped the world she knows. There she must gather knowledge, allies and artifacts that might help her son and Covenant without violating the strict Laws of Time that any interference with the past could unravel, all while the Masters who now govern the Land grow increasingly suspicious of her intentions and the power she carries.
