Synopsis
Jewel Markess ATerafin, the head of House Terafin, entrusts her den-kin Carver with a mysterious blue leaf from the wilderness. Carver and Ellerson set out to cross a harsh Winter and reach home with it. Meanwhile, a waking Lord of the wild lands, firstborn creatures, demons and wild elementals all threaten the city of Averalaan. The story follows the travellers across the Winter while Jewel and the rest of her House do what they can to hold the city against the powers that are gathering around it, and the leaf that Carver carries becomes more important than anyone first realised.
