Synopsis

Flame of Sevenwaters, the sixth novel in the series, follows Maeve, daughter of Lord Sean of Sevenwaters, who returns home after ten years spent living apart from her family, her hands permanently scarred from a childhood fire that also left her unable to do the needlework and other domestic tasks expected of a noblewoman of her station. Her homecoming coincides with a growing crisis at the borders of Sevenwaters, where travelers have begun disappearing, a danger traced back to the fey prince Mac Dara, whose long and troubled history with the family goes back generations. When Maeve's younger brother Finbar goes missing under suspicious circumstances linked to Mac Dara's activities, Maeve is drawn into a dangerous journey alongside him, one that forces her to confront both the fey prince's power and her own complicated feelings about the family and home she left behind.

Notes

  • From the series record (Sevenwaters): One continuous three-generation family saga (the descendants of Sorcha of Sevenwaters); treated as a single continuous Core Canon sequence rather than split by generation, per the multi-sub-arc-as-one-Core-saga precedent (also applied to Kushiel's Legacy's three sequential trilogies).

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
