Synopsis
Flirt is the eighteenth entry in the Anita Blake series, a novella set in St. Louis. Anita Blake, a federal marshal and necromancer, is already juggling relationships with Micah, Nathaniel and the vampire Jean-Claude when a newly resurrected man named Tony Bennington arrives in the city. Bennington has been raised from the dead through the power of the ancient vampire Belle Morte and uses his charm to work his way into the local supernatural power structure, quietly manipulating vampires and werewolves toward his own ends. As his influence spreads and tensions rise among the city's factions, Anita is drawn into confronting him, even as an unexpected visit from her estranged grandmother raises unsettled questions about Anita's own family history and the abilities she inherited. The novella follows Anita balancing this external threat with the ongoing complications of her personal life.
