Synopsis
Ruby is a Fireblood, able to control heat and flame, living in hiding within a kingdom ruled by Frostbloods where her kind is forbidden, feared and hunted to near extinction. After soldiers kill her mother during a raid on her village, Ruby is captured and taken into the heart of Frostblood territory, where she vows revenge against the Frost King responsible for her people's persecution and her mother's death. Held among her enemies, she forms an uneasy, forbidden alliance with Arcus, a Frostblood warrior of uncertain loyalties and hidden motives of his own, whose help she needs even as she struggles to trust him, as her plan for vengeance draws her deeper into the Frostblood court's dangers.
