Elly Blake is a New York Times bestselling Canadian author of young adult fantasy who resides in Southwestern Ontario with her husband, children, and rescue dogs. She is best known for the Frostblood Saga, a trilogy comprising Frostblood, Fireblood, and Nightblood, an elemental fantasy series following a girl born with fire magic in a kingdom ruled by practitioners of frost magic, marketed to readers of Shadow and Bone and Red Queen for its blend of political intrigue, elemental power systems, and romance. The series achieved bestseller status and broad international readership within the young adult fantasy market. Blake later began the Thirstwood series, an 'enchanting, adventure-filled fantasy' trilogy comprising The Forest King's Daughter, The Cursed Queen's Daughter, and Daughter of the Wild Gods, continuing her focus on richly built magical worlds centered on daughters of powerful, often adversarial, supernatural rulers. Across both series, Blake's fiction is characterized by tightly plotted elemental magic systems, fast-paced romantic tension, and young heroines navigating inherited power and political danger, establishing her as a consistent presence in the crowded young adult fantasy and romantasy landscape through sustained bestseller performance across multiple series.
