Synopsis

Heir of Fire, the third book in Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series, finds Celaena Sardothien arriving in the neighboring land of Wendlyn, ostensibly on the king of Adarlan's orders but privately seeking both answers about the mysterious Wyrdkeys and a reckoning for the death of a friend at the king's hands. Grieving and uncertain of her own power, Celaena reluctantly begins training with the immortal Fae warrior Rowan Whitethorn to reclaim the fire magic she has kept hidden since Adarlan outlawed magic across the land. Meanwhile, back in Adarlan, Chaol Westfall works secretly against the crown alongside the general Aedion Ashryver, Prince Dorian struggles with strange abilities of his own, and the witch Manon Blackbeak competes fiercely to lead her clan. As unsettling attacks begin plaguing the region, hints emerge that the king may be preparing something far worse than anyone realizes.

Notes

  • From the series record (Throne of Glass): Tower of Dawn is an interquel running concurrently with events late in Empire of Storms/before Kingdom of Ash, hence internal chronology 5.5 rather than a plain integer, following a companion-volume convention already used elsewhere in this canon.

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.
