Synopsis
David Rain is still living with the Pennykettles and still hoping a publisher will take his book. Lucy makes a new clay dragon, a wishing dragon that David names G'reth. At college his tutor sets him an essay on whether dragons exist, with a funded research trip to the Arctic as the prize. As David researches, he finds a connection between dragons and the far north, and his writing dragon, Gadzooks, scribbles a mysterious name. Zanna Martindale, a college student who knows a great deal about dragons, becomes part of his circle, while the sibyl Gwilanna works behind the scenes. Old legends of polar bears and a fire tear begin to draw David towards the ice.
