Synopsis

Incubus Dreams is the twelfth novel in Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series. Anita works to gain conscious control over the ardeur, the demanding supernatural hunger that has increasingly governed her body and her relationships since its emergence, aware that failing to master it risks harming both herself and those closest to her. In the course of trying to manage this power, she unexpectedly forms a second triumvirate bond, this time with the vampire Damian and the were-leopard Nathaniel, an occurrence that significantly expands her necromantic abilities beyond anything she has previously experienced. Navigating an increasingly complicated web of romantic and metaphysical obligations to Jean-Claude, Richard, Micah, and the growing circle of partners bound to her, Anita must work out how to live with powers that are reshaping her identity as fast as she can adapt to them.
