Synopsis
Some time after the events of God's War, Nyx has left bounty hunting behind and works as a bodyguard for diplomats. The war with Chenja continues. When Nyx's former sisters among the bel dames, the state-sanctioned assassins, launch a coup, she is recruited to stop them. Her hunt takes her and a team of mercenaries to a wealthy, peaceful but heavily contaminated country, where she meets giant bugs, shapeshifters and sweet-talking politicians and forms unlikely alliances. The blurb hints that the bodies she leaves behind may include her own.
