Synopsis
Picking up several weeks after the events of Inkspell, Inkdeath follows Meggie and her family's continued efforts within the Inkworld, including an attempt to bring back the fire-eater Dustfinger, whose fate in the previous book has left the group determined to find a way to restore him. Meanwhile Meggie's father, Mortimer, operating in secret as the masked vigilante known as Bluejay, a legend from the book's own story that has taken on new life through Mo's actions, leads resistance efforts against the tyrannical rulers oppressing the city of Ombra. As the family's fates become ever more entangled with the world Mo once only read about, the concluding volume brings the trilogy's central struggle between the real world and the Inkworld to its climax.
