Synopsis
Into Battle brings the series' rising tensions to open conflict as three forces converge: Tal, allied with Underfolk rebels fighting for their freedom from the Chosen who have long ruled over them; Milla, leading the Icecarls in a direct assault on the Castle to protect the Dark World from what they see as an existential threat; and an ancient, long-hidden evil finally beginning to reveal itself after simmering beneath the surface of earlier books. With the Veil that protects their world growing dangerously unstable, the clashing ambitions of Underfolk, Icecarls, and the Castle's ruling Chosen threaten to tear the world apart from within just as the deeper threat starts to stir.

Notes
- From the series record (The Seventh Tower): A completed 6-book middle-grade secondary-world fantasy sequence (Scholastic, 2000-2001), distinct from Garth Nix's Old Kingdom and Keys to the Kingdom universes: an unrelated setting split between the underground Castle and the sunlit surface world Aenir/the Veil.
