Synopsis
Iron Flame, published in 2023, is Rebecca Yarros's sequel to Fourth Wing in the Empyrean series. Violet Sorrengail returns to Basgiath War College for her second year, having survived her first year's trials and now bonded to two dragons rather than the usual one. She discovers that her brother Brennan, long believed dead, is alive and leading a rebellion, and learns of a threat called venin that the kingdom's leadership has hidden from the population. Torn between the official story she has been told to uphold and exposing what she knows, Violet must navigate a new, hostile vice commandant while facing the life-threatening tests the Riders Quadrant demands. As she digs deeper into the truth behind the venin and the kingdom's ancient warding systems, Violet is drawn into choices that could put everyone she cares about at risk.
