Synopsis
Three years have passed since Arslan took the throne of Pars. Now eighteen, he rules a kingdom that is stabilizing and slowly rebuilding its strength. His abolition of slavery has earned him the title of the Liberator King, but the reform stripped privileges from the old noble families, and they nurse a deep grudge against the crown. At the same time, the neighboring states of Misr and Chuluk begin to show open ambitions toward Pars. The volume opens the second part of the saga and sets up a new round of upheaval for Arslan and his generals.
