Synopsis

Kingdom of Ash, the seventh and final book in the Throne of Glass series, released in 2018, opens with Aelin Galathynius held captive by the Queen of the Fae, imprisoned within an iron coffin on a remote island where her fire has been suppressed for months. Her husband Rowan searches for her across the continent alongside his companions, while in Terrasen her cousin Aedion and the shapeshifter Lysandra, who has taken on Aelin's likeness to preserve morale, organize what defenses they can against overwhelming odds. Elsewhere across Erilea, allies including Manon Blackbeak, Dorian Havilliard, and Chaol Westfall pursue their own paths toward the coming confrontation with the demon lord Erawan and his Valg armies. With Aelin's fate uncertain and Terrasen's survival hanging by a thread, the scattered heroes of the series must find a way to converge before hope runs out.

Awards (verified)

  • Readers' Choice Award (Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction), 2018: won; Confirmed via the award body's own Choice Awards category results page.

Notes

  • From the series record (Throne of Glass): Tower of Dawn is an interquel running concurrently with events late in Empire of Storms/before Kingdom of Ash, hence internal chronology 5.5 rather than a plain integer, following a companion-volume convention already used elsewhere in this canon.

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings, but they resolve to the exact same sequence for this book, so one combined line is shown instead of two identical ones.

  • Reading order, within the series Throne of Glass: position 7 of 7: previous Tower of Dawn (2017)
