Synopsis

The thirty-fourth book of The Legend of the Ice People, published in English as The Woman on the Beach. André Brink has been chosen to find the stricken members of the Ice People in his generation, those cursed by the legacy of Tengel the Evil. The search leads him to Trondheim, where an unfortunate woman has given birth to a stillborn, badly deformed child: could the Ice People have descendants other than those he knows of? André finds Mali, the suffragette, and the very helpful Nette, and a clue leads the three of them to Sweden, where an unfathomable evil waits to take a terrible revenge.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.
