Synopsis

L'Île du destin concludes the first Quête d'Ewilan trilogy as the heroes' search turns south, toward the Aline archipelago, in pursuit of clues that might lead Ewilan to the parents she has never known. The journey by sea brings pirates and other dangers of the open water, while one companion undergoes a mysterious transformation that unsettles the group and forces them to adapt their plans. As they island-hop toward their goal, the party gathers fragments about Ewilan's family and the deeper history of Gwendalavir's conflict with the Ts'liches, while still contending with enemies determined to stop them. Their path eventually leads toward a remote island known as the Peak of Destiny, tied closely to the mystery of Ewilan's origins, where the answers she has chased since arriving in Gwendalavir finally begin to come into focus.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
