Synopsis
Rankstrail, the bastard king of men, is swept away in a flood and captured by orcs, who make him a slave. Worn down by despair and hatred, he expects to die. Candles lit in mourning by his people carry the ancient spell of the Fire Mages to him and remind him who he is: a captain who leaves no one behind, with orc blood in his veins. He then takes on the task of freeing the orcs' souls from their ferocity and barbarism, in the belief that they can be saved.
