Synopsis
Nox is a young grocery delivery clerk in the port district of Gemina, a vast walled metropolis divided among rival ducal houses, linked since childhood to the House of the Sea Turtle. An orphan raised alongside his sister by the ambitious Duke Servaint, he spends his days delivering fine wines and sharing poetry with friends. When an incident leaves him in possession of a book of poetry recounting the city's founding myths, he notices the text seems to echo events from his own life, drawing him against his will into the political intrigue of Gemina's ruling houses and into a hidden, monster-populated mirror side of the city that most residents never glimpse. As the boundaries between the poem, the city's history, and his own fate blur, Nox must decide how deeply he will let himself become entangled in Gemina's oldest secrets.
