Overview

Capitale du Sud is a completed French-language secondary-world fantasy trilogy by Guillaume Chamanadjian, published under the collective imprint title “Cycle de la Tour de Garde” by the independent French press Aux Forges de Vulcain (later reissued in mass-market paperback by Le Livre de Poche). Set in a southern city-state built around a magical watch-tower and the guards who serve it, the trilogy follows a cast bound up in the tower's politics and its old, uncanny power across three volumes.

Surfaced the same way as Les Sentiers des Astres this same canon-discovery run (2026-08-20): via France's Prix Imaginales award history rather than an Anglo-American trade-press list, per Carlos's explicit instruction to pursue an obscure/non-Anglo-American discovery angle, echoing the Crónicas de Allaryia precedent.
