Synopsis

The Drenai Empire faces annihilation as Ulric, the warleader who has united the fractious Nadir tribes into a single force over 500,000 strong, marches south. Standing between the Nadir and conquest is Dros Delnoch, long regarded as the greatest fortress in the world but now undermanned and ill-prepared for siege. Druss the Legend, an aging warrior long retired from battle, answers the call to defend the fortress one final time, knowing the odds are grim. Alongside him is Regnak Wanderer, known as Rek, a former army officer who has spent years running from what he sees as his own cowardice and must now decide whether to stand and fight. As the siege draws in soldiers, mercenaries, and civilians alike, the defenders of Dros Delnoch must find the resolve to hold the wall against overwhelming numbers, even as hope for relief grows thin.

Neighbouring works

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
