Overview

The Drenai Saga is David Gemmell's signature heroic-fantasy sequence: 11 novels (1984–2004) around the iconic heroes Druss, Waylander and Skilgannon. Legend (1984), the story of the aging axeman Druss at the siege of Dros Delnoch, is a genre classic: the fantasy field's principal fan-voted prize (the Legend Award, 2009–2018) was named after it. Gemmell died in July 2006; the canon is closed.
