Synopsis
A millennium after the death of the legendary warrior Skilgannon the Damned, he is mysteriously resurrected in a world that has changed almost beyond recognition, and finds himself drawn into a new conflict that is not, at first, truly his own. Struggling with profound displacement and grief for the vanished world he once knew, Skilgannon must find a place for himself in a Drenai realm now transformed by the rise of Jiamads, fearsome hybrid fusions of beast and man bred specifically for war. As old skills meet an unfamiliar new age, Skilgannon is forced to decide what, if anything, still matters to him in this unfamiliar future.
