Synopsis
Lost in the Moment and Found follows Antoinette "Antsy" Ricci, a young girl who runs away from an increasingly unsafe home situation and, in the course of her flight, stumbles upon the Shop Where the Lost Things Go, a strange establishment that exists outside ordinary reality and deals in objects, and sometimes people, who have been lost from where they belong. Taken in by the shop's proprietor, Antsy begins to learn the rules governing this unusual place and the responsibilities that come with the abilities she starts to develop there. The novella follows Antsy's adjustment to a world defined by loss and recovery, tracing how she comes to understand her own place within it.

Notes
- From the series record (Wayward Children): Core Canon = all 11 published novellas (Tor.com/Tordotcom, 2016-2026), per the collection/short-form-as-Core precedent (this series' primary reading unit has always been the novella, not the novel). Book 12, "A Song of Sugar Sparrows" (planned January 2027), is announced but unpublished as of 2026-08-11 -- isn't counted here yet; watch for its publication.
