Synopsis
In a magical version of Portland, Oregon, Allie Beckstrom is a Hound: she can trace a spell back to the person who cast it. Magic costs its users, in migraines, lost memories and other harm, so it is bought, sold and abused. When a spell injures a young boy, Allie traces it to her estranged father Daniel, a ruthless businessman. Soon afterwards someone made up to look like Allie kills him. With the police after her, Allie teams up with Zayvion, a corporate operative, to find who is really responsible, and she is drawn back into the world of her father's black magic.
