Synopsis
Zoey Redbird, sixteen, is chosen by a goddess when a crescent moon appears on her forehead, the sign that she will become a vampyre. Her body must go through a transformation that some do not survive, so she leaves her family and enrolls at the House of Night, a boarding school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where new vampyres are trained. At school she makes friends, draws the attention of a popular boy, and finds that she has unusual abilities linked to the goddess Nyx. She also learns that the leader of the school's elite society, the Dark Daughters, is misusing her own gifts, and Zoey has to decide how far she will go to stand against her.
