Synopsis

Naondel, the second Red Abbey Chronicles novel, moves away from the Abbey itself to tell the story of how it came to exist, following a group of women known as the First Sisters who are held captive in a harem by a powerful man who wields dark magic over life and death. Coming from different cultures and backgrounds, and initially divided by mutual distrust and rivalry born of their shared captivity, the women must find a way to set aside their differences and work together if they hope to escape their imprisonment. Narrated in alternating voices, the novel follows each woman's individual path toward that fragile alliance, making clear from the outset that any escape will come at a great cost, both for those who manage to leave and for those left behind.
