Synopsis
Night of the Hunter opens the Companions Codex trilogy, following R.A. Salvatore's Sundering-era novels. Bruenor, Regis, and Wulfgar, recently reincarnated and reunited with Drizzt Do'Urden, must first rescue their old friend after he is gravely wounded, before the group can settle back into life together. Their respite proves short-lived as new dangers emerge in the Silver Marches and around the reclaimed dwarven stronghold of Gauntlgrym, with the drow city of Menzoberranzan launching coordinated attacks against the region's free peoples. The newly restored fellowship, still adjusting to being whole again after their long separation, is drawn into defending the North against this drow offensive, setting the stage for a wider conflict that will test both their old bonds and their new circumstances.
