Synopsis

Odin's Child, the first book in Siri Pettersen's Norse-inspired Raven Rings trilogy, opens as fifteen-year-old Hirka discovers she is an "Odin's child," a tailless being from another world who has lived her whole life among people who fear and despise what she turns out to be. The revelation shatters her sense of who she is just as she realizes that others want her dead in order to keep her true nature a secret, placing her in immediate danger from her own community. Set in a world where magic is fading and the boundaries between realms are growing unstable, the story follows Hirka as she tries to understand what she actually is and why her existence poses such a threat, against a backdrop of deepening xenophobia and blind faith among the people who raised her.
