Synopsis

Once Broken Faith is the tenth novel in the October Daye series. It opens with Toby returning from the Kingdom of Silences carrying a newly discovered cure for elf-shot, the faerie poison that plunges its victims into a sleep lasting a century, and the High King and Queen summon a historic gathering of faerie monarchs to the Kingdom of the Mists to decide the cure's fate. The convocation turns deadly almost immediately when a prominent fae king is assassinated and further attendees are struck down with elf-shot, and because Toby is the only changeling present, she quickly becomes a prime suspect. As the political stakes of the gathering threaten to collapse into chaos and bury the cure for good, Toby must identify the killer among the assembled nobility before anyone else dies, all while under the shadow of suspicion herself.

Notes

  • From the series record (October Daye): Long-running urban fantasy series; the main novel sequence only. Distinct from McGuire's Wayward Children. Numerous companion novellas/short stories exist and were not researched.
