Synopsis
The Brightest Fell is the eleventh novel in the October Daye series. Its peaceful opening is broken when Toby's estranged mother, Amandine, arrives with a demand: find her long-missing daughter August or suffer the consequences, and to ensure Toby's compliance, Amandine kidnaps Toby's fiance Tybalt along with the girlfriend of Toby's friend Jazz. With no acceptable way to refuse, Toby is forced into an uneasy partnership with Simon Torquill, a former enemy only recently freed from an elf-shot sleep, and together they take on the task of solving a mystery a century old: the 1906 disappearance of August, a pureblood fae who vanished without a trace. The search draws Toby back through long-buried fae history as she races to find August and win back the people Amandine is holding hostage.
