Synopsis
In an alternate world where magic is practical and God's existence is scientifically proven, the United States is fighting a second world war against a resurgent Islamic Caliphate. Steven Matuchek, a werewolf, and Virginia Graylock, a witch, are thrown together against a genie released from a bottle sealed by King Solomon, and they fall in love. Later episodes follow their married life, including a rescue of their daughter from Hell. The novel joins four stories first printed in a fantasy magazine between 1956 and 1969, treating spells, demons and bureaucracy as ordinary tools of modern warfare and daily life.
