Synopsis
Paladin's Faith follows Marguerite, a spy and landlady introduced in the first novel of the series, as she comes under threat of assassination from the powerful former employers who now see her as a liability. Rather than go into hiding, she devises an ambitious scheme intended to undermine their influence by destabilizing their financial power, and enlists the help of the Temple of the White Rat to carry it out. The paladins Wren and Shane, the latter a warrior haunted by his sense of having failed two different gods, are recruited as her protectors for a journey to the Court of Smoke, which draws the group into secret identities, dangerous travel through hostile territory, and growing complications as their plan unfolds.
