Synopsis
Passage to Dawn, the fourth book of the Legacy of the Drow quartet, opens six years after the previous novel, with Drizzt Do'Urden and Catti-brie now serving aboard the privateer ship Sea Sprite under Captain Deudermont, alongside the wizard Robillard, hunting pirates along the Sword Coast. Their settled routine is disrupted when the balor demon Errtu, disguised as Deudermont, delivers a cryptic message hinting at a hidden island, and Drizzt and Catti-brie separately receive a riddling clue suggesting that Drizzt's long-dead father, Zaknafein, may in fact still be alive and held captive by the drow goddess Lolth. Joined by the eccentric wizard Harkle Harpell, the Sea Sprite's crew sets out across the Forgotten Realms to follow this thread, drawn ever closer to the demon Errtu and the corrupting artifact Crenshinibon as they pursue the truth behind the message.
