Synopsis
Eighteen months on, the government has suppressed the piratomania that once made Art Blastside a national heroine, and she and Felix are evicted from their cliff-top mansion. The return of her old shipmate Ebad with the rebuilt and improved Unwelcome Stranger is all the excuse Art needs: she regroups her ragtag crew of actors turned sailors and sails once more across the oceans, through wild weather, bizarre places and riotous sea battles, back toward the Treasured Isle. There she means to learn the ultimate secret behind the treasure, the reason for the pirate Golden Goliath's old hatred of her mother Molly, and the mystery that shadows her own life: why she cannot love her child. The third and last of the Piratica novels, it carries the series to a close that is realistic rather than happily ever after.
